NHS Scotland Volunteering – Exploring Best Practice
Volunteer involving organisations (particularly those who work closely with NHS colleagues or have a presence within NHS services) may be interested in a new resource from Healthcare Improvement Scotland the ‘NHS Scotland Volunteering – Exploring Best Practice’ It includes information, advice and practical support across the volunteer management process. While intended for NHS staff there is lots that will be of interest and use for third sector organisations in planning daily work, developing new volunteering services and improving existing services e.g. :
- Third Sector Volunteers in NHS Scotland settings (section 1.7)
- Guidance on tasks which should not be undertaken by volunteers without specific training and local agreement (section 2.2)
- Practical ideas for Inclusive Volunteering (section 5.5.1)
- Exit questionnaire (section 5.5)
- Evaluation (section 7.5)
